Wooden church in Miroľa was
built in 1770 and it is dedicated to The
Protection of the Virgin Mary. Construction of two crosses is
tripartite, three
rooms, three towers and it consist of babinec (babinets), the area
nearest to
the door and the nave (the largest part of the church). Roof of the
building
and tower are covered by handmade split shingles.
Interior
equipment is in an original condition , iconostas is exactly solved by
iconographic principles. The iconostasis is four-row polychrome
architecture of
18 century with icons on four floors and richly decorated tsar dverce
intended
only for the priest. Top row of icons are newer, from the late 18
century. The
top of iconostasis is completed by sheet icon of Crucifixion. The
iconostasis
is tuned to more colors. The main row is brick-red; the rest is a
combination
of blue, white and green with gilding. In the sanctuary is also the
relief of
the Crucifixion from the late 18 century.
Not far from
Miroľa village is a National Nature Reserve – Miroľská
Moor with the occurrence
of rare, law protected Bogbean (menyanthes trifoliata).
