This
wooden church was built
at 1742 and it´s sacred to st. archangel
Michael. The village was almost destroyed in the end of II. World war.
The
parsonage, church and iconostasis were damaged too. Architecture of the
church
is typical example for wooden sacral buildings of eastern Slovakia with
three
from east to west situated towers which are ended by original
forged crosses. The peculiarity of this
church is that, it was built without any nails. Object is roofed by a
shingles,
cabin and undertower closets are vertical chipped with wooden tablets
and
sheets. There´s a little chorus with a wooden parapet
in the western
side of church interior. In the front part of church fence is
maintained part
of beam enclousure with an enter gate. There is a cementary with
iteresting tombstones next to the church. There is a belfry on the
south
from church. Iconostasis and altar are artistically valuable because
they are
from half 18th century. Five ordinal iconostasis is fulled by icons on
five
decks and it is tuned in red color. This church was added to the
national
heritage (UNESCO) list in 2008.
