This
wooden church was built
in 1658 and it´s dedicated to st. bishop Nicholas. On the icon is
st. Nicholas pictured
in bishop dress with mitra ( head cover of pontiffs and bishops ). From
architectural perspective it is three-parted building with three towers
with
three croses. In present there are in tower three bells – one
comes from 1759.
It has got log construction. Construction of tower and around it, is
collumned.
Building is roofed by shingle. Self-contained
tower and stepped domes are finished
by forged crosses. Building is surrounded by log wall, which has got
entrance
gate and it is roofed by shingle. Entry is on the west side of
building. On the
wall on north side of interior has maintained a part of
paintings
from end of 18th century: The Last judge and
the Calvary. The decor of interior is baroque and it is white-painted
gold.
Altar is oriented to the east. Iconostasis comes from 18th century. It
is
painted in blue color, in some places it has got marble touch. It is
painted on
the both sides. In the end od II. World war was church damaged. In
2004-2005
was church reconstructed. In 2008 was church added to national heritage
list
(UNESCO).
